Frank B. Sewell, 70, of Topeka, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at Midland Hospice House.
He was born March 5, 1944, in Topeka, the son of E. Frank and Margaret E. (Mannen) Sewell. He was a 1962 graduate of Topeka High School and attended Washburn University.
Frank retired as an electrician with IBEW, Local Union No. 226 and also retired from the U.S. Army.
Mr. Sewell was a member and Elder at Potwin Presbyterian Church and a 50 year member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Frank married Jane Edmonston on September 5, 1964, in Topeka. They had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She survives of the home. Other survivors include three daughters, Mary (Jim) Charity, Topeka, Becky Sewell, Baton Rouge, LA and Julie (Justin) Clay, Kansas City, KS; two grandchildren, Cameron and Caitlin Charity; and an uncle and aunt, Roy and Doris Mannen.
Frank enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2014, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment with military honors will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Frank will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
