Francis "Frank" C. Chapas, 77, of Topeka, passed away on December 25, 2021 at his home.
Frank was born on April 15, 1944 to Charles and Julia (Homa) Chapas in Pittsburg, PA.
He graduated from St. Malachy High School in 1962. After graduation Frank served in the United States Air Force. He served for 8 years before being honorably discharged in 1970.
Frank later worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for over 37 years. He was a Maintenance Supervisor before retiring.
On October 3, 1969 Frank married Carol Krebs. Together they had two children. They later divorced.
Frank loved to tinker in his shop. He enjoyed collecting and fixing clocks. Frank also loved to target practice with his grandsons. He was an avid story teller. Frank loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He would spoil them to no end and you could always find him at school events, plays, music programs supporting them.
Frank is survived by his children, Alan (Lisa) Chapas and Christine Elliott; Grandchildren, August Chapas, Aiden Elliott, Alexander Chapas, and Avery Elliott; and siblings, Theresa (Jesse) Bargas and Mary Ann (Eddie) Bennie.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his Son-In-Law Rusty Elliott.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021, 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Parker-Price Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow starting at 11:00 am at Parker Price Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery
