Francis Vernon Foster, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Midland Hospice. He was born on February 2, 1920 in Numa, Iowa to Charles W. and Mary E. (McCabe) Foster.
Francis graduated from Highland Park High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran that served during WWII. On June 20, 1953, he married Lois B. Nason in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death. Francis worked for Good Year in Topeka for 31 years. He was a member of Joyful Harvest Church and Local 307 Retirees.
Francis is survived by his daughter, Theodora "Teddi" Maines and her husband Richard of Topeka; one brother, Paul Foster of Colorado; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
A memorial ceremony with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
