Obituary- Frances Marie Watson
Frances Marie Watson, 90, passed away Wed., May 14, 2008, at Midland Hospice. She was born Aug. 26, 1917, in Americus, the daughter of Elmer Ray and S.A. (Grinnell) Anderson. She married Everett Raymond Watson on April 1, 1939. He preceded her in death Feb. 8, 1996.
She lived in Silver Lake and Temple, TX before returning to Topeka. She was a 1934 graduate of Seaman High School and a 1938 graduate of Washburn College. She was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church, having served as a Sunday School teacher and a committee member. She was also a member of Beulah Chapter #34, O.E.S. (Past Matron), Topeka Assembly #24 Social Order of Beauceant (Past President), 4-H leader, and a member of Shawnee County Extension Council.
She is survived by 4 sons, Dr. Linley (Janice) Watson, McGregor, TX; Dr. Henry Watson, Topeka; Leslie (Roni) Watson, Topeka; and Dr. Danny (Selina) Watson, Birmingham, MI; a daughter, Jennie (Dennis) Hetzer, Somerset, PA; 9 grandchildren, Anjie (Brian) Pardy, Kris Watson, Everett Watson, Darin (Michelle) Watson, Nikki (Joey) Fitzgibbon, Ryan Lee Watson, Philip Watson, Samantha Watson, and Jonathan Watson; 3 step- grandchildren, Elaina, Victoria, and Alexander Hetzer; 5 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Anderson, Romeville, IL.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Mon., May 19, at Mount Hope Cemetery. Frances will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sun., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
