Frances M. Spotswood

Frances M. Spotswood, age 95, of Topeka, formerly of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at her son’s home in Topeka.  Frances was born March 15, 1925 in Springfield, MO the daughter of Edwin and Elizabeth (Horne) Johnson.  She graduated from Greenwood High School in Springfield.  She married William “Bill” J. Spotswood October 13, 1967 in Springfield, MO.  He preceded her in death March 18, 2016.  Frances worked for the State of Missouri as a clerk typist.  She was a past member of the Grant Avenue Baptist Church in Springfield, MO.  Frances was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Wiseman.  Frances is survived by two sons, Eddie Wayne (Gayle) Edwards of Houston, TX and Scott (Cynthia) Edwards of Topeka; a step-son, Randall Spotswood of Columbia, MO; a step-daughter, Mary Jo (Paul) Summitt of Columbia, MO; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren (one on the way).  Frances enjoyed her family, but especially her grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be at a later date in Springfield, MO.  Memorial contributions may be made to Elara Hospice of Topeka.
