OBITUARY: Frances Eileen Riis
Frances Eileen Riis, 87, Topeka, KS, died Fri., Jan. 11, 2013. She was born Feb. 21, 1925, at Nauvoo, IL, to John A. and Lulu M. (Salisbury) Wilkens.
Frances was a homemaker and had been a waitress and worked at Seymour Foods in the past years. She was married to Harrison Earl Riis on Dec. 5, 1946, at Ft. Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary S. Riis, in 2003.
Surviving are her children: John P. Riis (Vicki) of Donnellson, IA, Raymond E. Riis of Topeka, Kathleen L. Benson (Alan) of Topeka, and Debra S. Vincent (Lewis) of Ft. Madison, IA; siblings: Betty Stout (Floyd) of Ft. Madison, IA, Joann Perry of Highlands Ranch, CO, John Wilkens (Ruthie) of Oak Harbor, WA, and David Wilkens (Sharleen) of Crossville, TN; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wed., Jan. 16, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
