Ford W. Arbogast

Ford W. Arbogast, 67, Topeka, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at home after a long illness. He was the son of Wayne and June Arbogast and was born in Shinnston, W. Va., on July 3, 1936. He moved with his family to Topeka in 1942. Ford graduated from Seaman High School in 1954 and married Joan Lindberg two years later. Ford worked at Meadow Gold for nine years and was subsequently employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 32 years before he retired in 1988. He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local No. 307. His wife, Joan; his brother, Virgil, of Topeka; and two sons, Alan and Eric, survive him. Alan lives in East Lansing, Mich., with his wife, Jennifer, and daughters, Hannah and Rosie. Eric resides in Bedford Hills, N.Y., with his wife, Virginia, and sons, Evan, Lukas and Marcos. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. A memorial service will be promptly at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Arbogast residence . Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Midland Hospice, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, 66606, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
