Floyd C. Priddy, Sr., 70, of Silver Lake, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at his home.
He was born February 23, 1943 in Topeka, the son of Ernest Charles and Esther Ruth (Hoppe) Priddy. He was a graduate of Auburn High School.
Mr. Priddy was employed Hamilton Oil Company, Silver Lake.
He was a member of the Silver Lake Lions Club.
Floyd married Sharon S. Waetzig on July 14, 1962, in Carbondale, KS. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Sara (Dwight) Nichols, Silver Lake; a son, Floyd C. "Chuck" (Melissa) Priddy, Jr., Topeka; and 2 grandchildren, Allison and Caitlyn Priddy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Joan Bayless.
Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing softball and gardening. In their earlier years, he and Sharon enjoyed playing cards and dancing. He also coached little league baseball and girls slow pitch softball. He was very proud and loved his family.
A funeral ceremony will be 1 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at the West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka. Floyd will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
