Florence Clara Crook Felicy
Florence Clara Crook Felicy, 96, Topeka, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at Manor Care of Topeka. She was born Oct. 23, 1907, at Iola, the daughter of Walter Jesse and Bertha Mae Peck Crook. She lived in Wichita, Kansas City, Kan., and Fort Dodge, Iowa, until 1978, when she came to Topeka. Mrs. Felicy worked at as a telephone operator, office manager in retail, and as a pastor's wife. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Pentecostal Grace Tabernacle. She married the Rev. William Felicy on March 11, 1935, in Kansas City, Mo. He died April 2, 1986. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Claude and Floyd Crook. Surviving are a sister, Delia Yocum, Lodi, Calif., a sister, Mabel Isom, Laramie, Wyo., a brother, Lawrence Crook, Topeka, a sister, Mary Franklin, Stigler, Okla, a sister, Ivanell McFarland, Colorado Springs, Colo., and a brother, Leroy Crook, Wichita. Mrs. Felicy had no children of her own, but often spoke proudly of her 45 nieces and nephews. Services w ill be at 10 a.m. Friday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Burial will be in Mission Cemetery, Topeka. Florence C. Felicy will lie in state after 3 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.penwellgabel.com .
