Farrell Lee Fouts

Farrell Lee Fouts, 81, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 from a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's disease at Oakley Place2.

Farrell was born May 30, 1938 in Topeka, the son of William "Gene" and Minnie Knisley Fouts.

He graduated from Berryton High School in 1955. Farrell married Janet Ellis on August 9, 1958. They were married just shy of 61 years. He worked for the Shawnee County Sheriff Department for 33 years, retiring in 1993. After retirement, he drove a school bus for USD 345 Seaman district, then became the school Security Officer until 2000.

In April 2000, Farrell and Janet took to the road in their RV motorhome, working summers at various campgrounds, a few years at Adventureland Amusement Park in Iowa, and would winter in Texas. They enjoyed those 6 years.

Survivors include wife, Janet; two sons, William "Lee" (LeAnn), Auburn, KS and Lowell (Beth), Normal, IL; one daughter, Brenda (Dale) Linder, Topeka; three grandchildren: Karli Fouts (Stuart McClelland, Sr.), Topeka; Brady Fouts, Tecumseh and William "Will" Fouts, Normal, IL; one great-grandson, Stuart McClelland, Jr, Topeka; one sister, Carol Higginbotham, Lawrence, KS and many, nieces, nephews, cousins who best knew him as "Uncle Bud".

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jackie, Michael and Russell and sisters, Joyce Smith, Bonnie Klein and Alice Kitchens.

Farrell was under hospice care for that last 1 ½ years. Our family will always be grateful to them for the care given to him.

A celebration reception for Farrell will be held from 1-4pm, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Parker-Price Reception Center, 1940 NW Central Ave, Topeka.
