OBITUARY: F. Nadean "Deanie" Desch
F. Nadean "Deanie" Desch, 83, Topeka, died Tues., June 1, 2010. Deanie was born March 8, 1927, at Valley Falls the daughter of Fred S. and Crystal E. (Smith) Coker. She was raised at Meriden and attended Meriden Schools and Clark's Business College. She was the baker at Rochester Grade School for 22 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Nifty Fifties, and multiple card clubs. Deanie was married to Casey Desch on Nov. 11, 1948, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers: Bud and Buster Coker. Surviving are her children: Barbara Doud (Robert), Steven Desch, Michael Desch (Candy), Susan Bartley, and Michelle Schmidt (Ron), all Topeka; a sister: Kathy Northrop of Topeka; 12 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandson. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Sat., June 5, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment in Meriden Cemetery. Deanie will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Fri., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
