Everett Lee Noble, 91, Meriden, formerly of Topeka and Hoyt, died Thurs., May 4, 2006 at Midland Hospice House. He was born Feb. 23, 1915, at Avoca, AR, the son of Everett Lee and Della Singleton Noble.
Mr. Noble retired from the U.S. Post Office as a letter carrier. He served in the Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of several Veteran and Fraternal Organizations.
He was married to Dixie Lee (Rice) on Jan. 13, 1962. She preceded him in death. Everett was married to Velda Marie (Bausch) Mitchell on July 23, 1986. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a stepson, Rusty Mitchell and wife Debbie of Meriden; two step grandsons, Dustin and Bart Mitchell, one brother, Jack Noble of Utah; and one sister Nancy, address unknown; as well as nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one brother Harry and two sisters Lena and Faye.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tues., May 9, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. I.O.O.F. services will be conducted at the funeral home. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Rossville American Legion at Meriden Cemetery. Everett will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday.
