OBITUARY: Everett L. "Ike" Eikleberry
Everett LeRoy "Ike" Eikleberry, 88, Topeka, died Sat., March 4, 2006, at Midland Hospice House. He was born April 23, 1917, in the Eff Creek Community north of Brookville, KS, the son of John W. and Cora Mae (Price) Eikleberry.
He was graduated from Brookville High School in 1934 and had lived in Salina before moving to Topeka in 1964. Ike was employed by the Kansas State Division of Printing and Behne & Associates. He was a member and past-president of Aerie # 58, Fraternal Order of Eagles and had served as president of Kansas State Aerie, Fraternal Order of Eagles in 1977-78. He was a member and Past Master of Capital City Daylight Lodge # 454, A.F. & A.M. and a member and Past Monarch of Media Grotto; and a member of Golden Rule Lodge # 90, A.F. & A.M.; Square & Compass Club; Arab Shrine Temple; and Arab Temple Provost Guard.
Ike was married to Marie Mae Agin on Jan. 16, 1940, at Salina. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cleala Jean Clapper, on Dec. 4, 2003.
Surviving are his wife, Marie, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law: Faran LeRoy "Ike" and Judy Eikleberry of O'Fallon, MO; a daughter, Carol Lynne Hilson of Rowlett, TX; a son-in-law: Gene Clapper of Gypsum; 8 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m., Wed., March 8, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, Topeka followed by Masonic Services conducted by Golden Rule Lodge # 90, A.F. & A.M. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wed., at Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Ike will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
