Everett Donald “Don” Humbert, Jr. passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer. He was born December 27, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas to Marge Hamlin and Everett Humbert. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking breakfast and beating his family in cards. He was well known for his homemade chicken and noodles.
Don served in the Army 25th Aviation Battalion Infantry Division where he received a Good Conduct medal and decorations for being a sharpshooter and expert rifleman. In the Army he was stationed in Hawaii before returning to Kansas where he worked at Boeing, followed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber where he retired after 27 years of service.
He married the love of his life Peggy Owens on June 4, 1988 in Topeka, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Owens) Humbert of Topeka; children, Sherry Reser, Rodney (Tracy) Humbert, Michelle (Ben) Phillips, Nicole (Travis) Atkins, and Mindie Mah; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Gary (Tracy) Colcher; and sister, Janice (Carl) Palmer.
He was predeceased in death by his son, Delmon Bradley Humbert; father, Everett Donald Humbert; mother, Marge Colcher; brother, Larry Colcher; and sister, Beverly Ann Heuser.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Topeka, KS 66608. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will take place following the service at Topeka Cemetery.
