Evelyn E. Phillips, 87, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. She was born March 20, 1934 in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was raised in Florida and attended school in West Palm Beach. She was married to Ed Phillips on January 3, 1954. Ed served in the Air Force and Evelyn and Ed were stationed and lived in many places. After his retirement, they moved back to Florida. She was an active member of the Moose Lodge #2010 there and traveled to many events they held across the country. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Evelyn and Ed returned to Topeka in 2012 to live near family. She enjoyed keeping busy, playing bingo, cooking, puzzles and computer games. She had Pug dogs for years. Sarge, her last, is at home with Sharon. Ed preceded Evelyn in death on February 24, 2020.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua and a son-in-law, Joe.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Eugene) Lillo of Topeka, Susan Carames of Barnhart, MO and Shirley (Wendell) Dyess of Andalusia, AL; she has one living sister, Mary Roberts in Ohio; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Evelyn will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home from 1:00-5:00 on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:30 am Monday morning, November 15, 2021 at Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Advanced Brain and Neurological Care at the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City, Kansas or to the Helping Hands Humane Society. www.davidsonfuneral.com
