Evelyn Herschell, 95, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013.

She was born November 23, 1917 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Ernest Paul and Jessie (Prosser) Greer.

She was a former member of Tecumseh Grange and Tecumseh Social Service Club.

Evelyn married William "Bill" Herschell on November 16, 1940 at Lyndon, KS. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1998. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Herschell Knowles, Topeka, Deanna Allen Cox (Reggie), Long Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Julie Williams Kingsbury(Patrick), Baldwin City, David Purgason, Fullerton, CA, Douglas Purgason(Joyce), Long Beach and Deborah Purgason, Saugus, CA and a great-granddaughter, Kyra Purgason, Long Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Olliso.

A funeral ceremony will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service on Saturday.
