Eva Marie (Rogers) Manning, 90, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
She was born April 4, 1922 in Maple Hill, KS, the first born daughter of Alexander A. and Ethyl L. (Baker) Rogers.
Survivors include two sisters, Francis Rogers of Paxico, KS and a sister, Phyllis Ashcraft of Eudora, KS; nieces, Sharon Gilbert and her husband, Gary Gilbert and Linda Schaffer and her husband, Harry Schaffer all of Topeka, Carolyn Rogers and her family, Dawn Kuck and her family, Mary Beth Erickson and Cindylnn Kuck; nephews and George Rogers and his family, Martin Rogers and his family all of New Jersey, Thomas Cott and his wife, Linda Cott of Topeka, Richard Rogers and Tina Rogers of Wyoming, Mark Rogers of California; 19 great-nieces and nephews; and 7 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Eva married George H. Manning on December 22, 1958 in Bartlesville, OK. He preceded her in death January 10, 1982. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Cott and Margarette Lane and two brothers, George Rogers and Thomas Rogers.
A graveside ceremony will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Reading Cemetery, Reading, KS. Eva will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hand Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, KS 66604 or to Presbyterian Manor, Good Samaritan Club, 4712 SW 6th St, Topeka, KS 66606.
