Eugene Hynson

Eugene Hynson Jr. age 91, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at his home in Topeka. Eugene was born March 5, 1926 in Cottonwood Falls, KS the son of Eugene and Esther Stubenhofer Hynson. He graduated from Cottonwood Falls High School. He married Dorothy Marx October 28, 1947 in Emporia. She preceded him in death October 29, 2017. Eugene served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He worked for the Topeka Fire Department from 1954 until retiring in January 1984 and received the rank of Captain. He formerly attended the North Topeka Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post #400, V.F.W. Phillip Billard Post #1650 and the IAFF Union Local #83. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Hynson in 2006. He is survived by a son, Robert Hynson of Topeka.
