Ethel M. Dennis

Ethel Myrtle Dennis, 91, of Topeka passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022.   She was born April 24, 1931 the daughter of Hubert and Bertha Carney Griffin.    She lived in Topeka most of her life.   She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1949.   She began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.    She met and married Theodore Dennis and they were wed in May of 1952.   She stayed home and raised her six kids.  After they were raised she returned to work for the phone company and worked a total of over 21 years before retiring on May 9, 1987.    After retirement she and Ted traveled.   Ted and Ethel wintered at Palacios, Texas.  They spent 20 winters down there.   She was devoted to Ted.    Ethel enjoyed big family get-to-gathers at birthdays and the holidays.

Survivors include her son, Michael Dennis and wife Cindy of Lago Vista, Texas; daughters, Theresa Benge and Mary Dennis of Topeka; daughter in laws, Dawn Dennis and Kim Dennis; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Dennis, her two brothers; three children, Phil Dennis, John Dennis and Cathy Dennis and grandson, Phillip Smith.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday evening, June 30 ^th at the Davidson Funeral Home.    Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
