Ethel Elaine Anderson, 85, Topeka, died Saturday, October 14, 2017, at her home. She was born August 23, 1932, in Emporia, the daughter of William Frederick and Nora Agnes (Saulter) Demler. She had lived in Topeka most of her life.
Ethel loved working in her flower gardens, doing jigsaw puzzles, television mysteries, and most of all she loved her family.
She was married to Lee Augustus Powers, they later divorced. She was married to Chester W. Anderson who preceded her in death on August 23, 1972.
Surviving are four children: Ethel Lee Powers of the home, Tommy Powers (Barbara) of Topeka, Lula Armstrong (Mark) of Topeka, and Johnny Powers, Sr. of Topeka; ten grandchildren: Angela Beckwith, Michael Beckwith, Melissa Turley, Christina Hammer (Jason), Melody Poyner (Zach), Kevin Powers (Abby), Kyle Powers (Alyssa), Johnny Powers, Jr., Amanda Lynn Powers, and Crystal Dawn Powers; 21 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 20, 2017, at Prairie Home Cemetery, NW 35th and Menoken Road, Topeka.
Ethel will lie in state from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Clinic of North Topeka, 625 NW U.S. Highway 24, Topeka, KS 66608.
