Ernesta Earlene "Peggy" Post
Ernesta Earlene "Peggy" Post, 91, Topeka, died Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Lexington Park Nursing Center, Topeka. She was born June 6, 1925, in Osage County, the daughter of Ernest C. and Mamie (Davis) Akins.
She graduated from St. Maries High School at St. Maries, Idaho. She had worked for Capper Publications, Stauffer Publications, and the State of Kansas, retiring in 1997.
Peggy was a member of AA for over thirty years.
She was married to Wayne Davison, and they later divorced. Peggy was married to Wilbur Post on October 29, 1971, in Oskaloosa. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2014. She was also preceded in death by two sons: David W. Davison and Mitchell Davison.
She is survived by a grandson: Travis Davison of Sun Tan Valley, AZ; five great-grandchildren; nephew/caregiver: Kenneth P. Akins, Jr. (Ruth) of Topeka; nieces and nephews: Richard Akins (Eleanor) of Lebanon, NH, Stanley Akins of Topeka, Karen Cook (Duane) of Lewiston, ID, Linda Way of Post Falls, ID, and Teresa Harper (Lawren) of Elk River, ID.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will be in America City Cemetery in Nemaha County.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel.
