Erma V. Grose, 91, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016.
She was born January 4, 1925, in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of William and Norma (Crook) Hestand.
Erma was a 1943 graduate of Topeka High School and member of Northland Christian Church, Goodyear Retirees Club, and enjoyed helping with bible school at church. She had worked until 1946 at Crosby's and also at Ed Marling's Home Furnishing in Topeka. She also worked with the Shawnee County Election Office later in life.
Erma married Richard D. Grose on August 20, 1944, in Topeka, KS. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1985.
Survivors include children, Steven (Mary) Grose, David (Marcia) Grose, Barbara (Gary) Heston; brother, Wayne (Ramona) Hestand; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Michael Grose.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am. Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Central Park Christian Church, 1535 SW Clay, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, Kansas 66608. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Presbyterian Manor or Central Park Christian Church.
