Erma Pauline Runnels

Erma Pauline Streeter Runnels, 91, of Mayetta, Kansas passed away on September 29, 2017 at Midland Hospice House. Erma was born on April 26, 1926 in Topeka, Kansas , the daughter of Frederick H. Streeter and Kathryn M. Rupp. She married Walter D. Runnels Sr. on January 10, 1950 in Topeka, Kansas. Erma worked as a housewife and child provider and other small jobs, but most impressive was her volunteer work for 45 years at Let’s Help. She was a member of St. Philips Episcopal Church and later transferred to Grace Cathedral of Topeka.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 1996, a grandson, Kevin Withar of McAlester, Oklahoma in 1998, five sisters, and three brothers , and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by three daughters; Kathy (Gary) Orth of Mayetta, Carol Shropshire of Eufaula, Oklahoma, and Terry Stone of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Dick Streeter and Kenneth Streeter of Topeka; a sister, Sarah Kenney of Topeka; 6 grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren, and 41 nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Davidson Funeral home at 10:00 a.m. followed by inurnment at Topeka Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Midland Hospice and sent in the care of Davidson Funeral Home.
