OBITUARY: Mrs. Erma E. Hoffman
Mrs. Erma E. Hoffman, 87, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 20, 2005. Mrs. Hoffman was born February 17, 1918, in Topeka to Oliver John and Alice M. Vaughn Bauer, the third of twelve childen.
Mrs. Hoffman over the years worked for Seymour and Morrell Foods, at various restaurants, One-Hour Martinizing and Village Cleaners. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Hoffman, in 1973.
Survivors include daughters Georgia (Fred) Abel and Deborah (Tom) Foster both of Topeka; sons William (Paula) Hoffman, Topeka, Thomas (Loni) Hoffman, Sun City, AZ, and John (Amy) Hoffman, Shawnee, KS; sisters Sophie Bauer, Topeka, and Regina Shook, Columbia, SC; brothers Eugene Bauer and Herschel Bauer both of Topeka, and Orville Bauer, Las Vegas, NV; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thurs., March 24, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Hoffman will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel where a parish rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
