Eric Dean "Chief" Tenpenny
Eric Dean "Chief" Tenpenny, 65, Valley Falls, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Midland Hospice House. He was born February 23, 1951, in Topeka, the son of Taylor Alexander and Mary Ella (Higgs) Tenpenny.
Chief graduated from Seaman High School in 1969. He had worked as a carpenter and truck driver. He had won numerous safety awards.
He was married to Carol Ann Christiansen on August 29, 1970, in Topeka.
Surviving are his wife: Carol Tenpenny of the home; children: Travis Tenpenny of Topeka and Leah Wilson (Adam) of Reading; three brothers: Michael Tenpenny (Deborah) of Hoyt, Robert Tenpenny of Auburn, William Tenpenny (Carol Ann) of Topeka; four grandchildren: Riley and Corbi Tenpenny and Laynie and Coy Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
Chief was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arthur Dale Tenpenny and Duane Lee Tenpenny.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 10, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka.
