Eric S. Smith, 49, of Lawrence, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009.
He was born June 22, 1959 in Dayton, OH, the son of Virgil B. and Alice (Beeghly) Smith. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Ranger.
Mr. Smith was employed by University of Kansas, facility operations.
Eric married Terry L. Taylor on December 7, 1988 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include three children, Brandi, Neal, and Erica all of Lawrence; his mother, Alice Kinder of Topeka.
Private inurnment will be at Topeka Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd., Topeka, KS 66604. Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel is assisting the family.
