OBITUARY: Elsie J. Kopp
Elsie J. Kopp, 69, Topeka, died Tues., March 19, 2013, at Midland Hospice House. She was born April 2, 1943, in Topeka, the daughter of Emily M. (Fields) and John W. Haid. Elsie was a member of Mater Dei Parish / Holy Name Campus; Women of the Moose; and the Beattie American Legion Auxiliary. She had operated a day care in her home and had worked at Osco and CVS drug stores. Elsie was married to Bernard Conrad Kopp on June 2, 1968, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Edna DeMotte; and 3 brothers: John Haid, Delbert Haid, and Ronald Haid. Surviving are a son: Ivan W. Kopp of Topeka; a sister: Donna Moore of Topeka; 3 brothers: Glenn Haid of Meriden, Elton Haid of Lawrence, and Clyde Haid of Topeka; and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Fri., March 22, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., followed by services conducted by Ladies of the Moose. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Topeka. Elsie will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thurs., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
