Elmira Vivian Wooderson
Elmira Vivian Wooderson, 76, Topeka, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at her home. Mrs. Wooderson was a comptroller of Associated Locksmiths of America until retiring in 2000. She was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Marion, N.D., the daughter of Minius and Anna Jensen Anderson. She graduated from Marion High School in Marion, N.D., and attended and graduated from business college in North Dakota. She lived in Lawrence until 1979 and then relocated to Dallas ,where she lived until 2000. Mrs. Wooderson was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She married Ivan Wooderson on May 16, 1950, in Seattle. He died March 19, 1959. Mrs. Wooderson also was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Frank Wooderson, in March of 1989. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen Ann and Jerry Real, Meriden; a brother, Irvin Andersen, Marion, N.D.; and a grandson, Samuel Ivan Real, Meriden. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence. Elmira Wooderson will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1500 S.W. 10th Ave., Topeka, 66604.
