Elmer James Zeferjahn

Elmer J. Zeferjahn, 101, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Elmer was born October 8, 1917 at Paxico the son of Adolf and Mary Ellen Zeferjahn. He attended Topeka High while growing up.  After high school he worked at Morrell’s Meat Packing Company and a service station before beginning his career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 1952. He also did custom combining for many years. He was a member of the United Rubber Workers Union and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed water skiing, hunting and fishing.

He was married to Lois Sill in 1940. Lois preceded him in August 22, 2010. He was also preceded in death by a son, Melvin Zeferjahn November 27, 2008.

He is survived by a daughter, DeAun K. Goodman of Topeka; a daughter in law, Jody Zeferjahn; five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Davidson Funeral Home.   He will lie in state Friday from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 7-8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Northland Christian Church or to the Salvation Army in care of Davidson Funeral Home.
