Ella May Jones

Ella May Jones, 68, Topeka, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 at Midland Hospice House. She was born June 10, 1936 in Topeka, the daughter of Herbert and Lillie Hankamer Alfrey. Ella May graduated from Highland Park High School. She retired from AT&T and worked with Interstate Studios as a photographer. Ella May married Ronald Jones June 1, 1956 they were divorced. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Robert Alfrey. She is survived by a son, Michael Jones, Topeka; daughter, Linda Bishop, Topeka; two sisters, Pauline Bailey, Silver Lake; June Bowen, Meriden; four half sisters, Sonja Link, Topeka; Mattie Ann Saturley, Nebraska; Joan Lathum, California; Edna Lewis, Arizona; one half brother, Ralph Alfrey, California; two step sisters, four grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabels Memorial Park Cemetery. Ella May will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Midland Hospice House 200 SW Frazier Cir.
