Ella M. Brokmann

Ella M. Brokmann, age 88, of Topeka, KS passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Rolling Hills in Topeka.  Ella was born January 30, 1933 in Effingham, Kansas the daughter of Theron and Mae (Hugel) Rutledge.  Ella married Howard A. Brokmann December 14, 1952 in Topeka.  He preceded her in death August 16, 2013.

Ella was a housepainter throughout Topeka, working with Howard for over 20 years.  They worked side by side together as a family.  Ella is survived by two daughters, ReGina F. Brokmann of Topeka and Sandra L. Brokmann of Topeka; two brothers, Philip D. Rutledge of Gresham, OR and Richard T. Rutledge of Portland, OR; four sisters, Thelma J. Winkler of Portland, OR, Louise C. Von Bergen of Sandy, OR, Evelyn C. Campbell of Portland, OR and Doris I. Curd of Snohomish, WA; six grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.  She loved to sew, quilt, work in the garden and plant flowers.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed canning.

Memorial services will be Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.
