OBITUARY: Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Brady
Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Brady, 95, Topeka, died Sun., June 3, 2012, at Midland Hospice House. She was born Aug. 22, 1916, at Topeka, the daughter of Ralph O. and Elma (Vanier) Button. From 1952-56, she worked at State Savings Bank; and from 1956-80, she was secretary to the Superintendent and clerk of Seaman U.S.D. # 345 School Board. Betty was a member of Seaman Congregational Church. She loved K.U. and K-State athletics. She enjoyed watching her sons participate in Seaman High School Athletics and later their successes in life. She was her sons biggest fan. Betty was married to Leon P. Brady in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her second son, Larry O. Brady. Surviving are two sons: Patrick L. Brady of Topeka and John Robert "J.R." Brady of Lubbock, TX; a sister: Jackuelyn R. Trumble of Boise, ID; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thurs., June 7, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Betty will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at the funeral chapel.
