OBITUARY: Elizabeth J. Anstaett

Elizabeth J. Anstaett, 86, Topeka, died Thurs., June 18, 2009, at her home. She was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Kansas City, the daughter of William and Anna L. (Hotchkiss) Henderson. She graduated from Burlingame High School and was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church, Women of the Moose, and Shawnee Boat & Ski Club. She had worked at Josten's American Yearbook, and most recently at Harrah's in table games. She was married to Kenneth C. Anstaett in Dec., 1939. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: James M. Anstaett and Kenneth L. Anstaett, and a grandson: Michael Alan Johnston. Surviving are 2 daughters: Sharon S. McKay and Kerri C. McGahey both of Topeka; a son: Hugh W. Anstaett of Berryton; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Tues., June 23, 2009, at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Elizabeth will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabeth J. Anstaett Memorial Fund, 1424 NW Jackson, Topeka, KS 66608.
