OBITUARY: Elizabeth Ann Henry



Elizabeth Ann Henry, 84, Topeka, died Mon., Dec. 15, 2008, at Aldersgate Village. She was born Aug. 21, 1924, at Agenda, the daughter of Clark A. and Cora A. (Ryman) Smith.

She was married to Charles Junior Henry on Oct. 1, 1945, at Beloit. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl R. Smith; a sister, Geneva Empson; and a step-daughter, Barbara Olsen.

Surviving are 2 sons: Charles "Richard" Henry (Kaye) and Ivan L. Henry; 4 daughters: Beverly Rost (John), Rheva Templeton, Joyce Norton (Kendall), and Arleeta Opitz (Weston); a step-son: Dwight Wood (Karen); a step-daughter: Carol Benell (Dick); 2 brothers: Harold Dean Smith and Hubert Smith (Ellen); a sister: Louise Ehlers; 20 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs., Dec. 18, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Elizabeth will lie in state after 3:00 PM Wed., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
