Eleanor B. Price, 87, Silver Lake, former long-time resident of North Topeka, passed away on December 29, 2008. Mrs. Price was born to her Swedish parents, Bert and Anna Berg on June 26, 1921 at Craig, NE. She married Arthur O. "Tex" Price in 1941. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2007. They raised two daughters, Linda (Don) Verge and Judy (Tom, Jr) Wade, all of Silver Lake. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers and extended family. Eleanor and her husband were charter founders of Rubber Workers Federal Credit Union where Eleanor began her career in 1956 and served as Manager until her retirement in 1987. The Prices were honored with a plaque for 50 years membership at North Topeka Baptist Church. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. Eleanor will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to North Topeka Baptist Church, 123 NW Gordon, Topeka, KS 66608 or to the organization of the donor's choice.
