Eldon Leon Rightmeier, 57, of Meriden, passed away Friday, December 12, 2008.
He was born January 28, 1951, the son of Leon F. and Bonnie (Kadavy) Rightmeier. He graduated from Belleville High School, Kansas State University and Washburn University School of Law.
He was employed by USD 340, Southwestern Bell, Sunflower Cablevision, Kan Ed and DISC. He was a former member of Rock Creek Bible Church, Meriden, and current member of Northland Christian Church. He also served on the USD 340 Board of Education and other professional organizations.
Eldon married Lorna Jean Mock on August 12, 1973 in Belleville, KS. She survives. Other survivors include his son, Nathan Rightmeier (Laura) of Lawrence; granddaughter, Jasper Leigh Rightmeier; his daughter Melissa Miller (Clint) of Lee's Summit, MO; granddaughter, Zoey Clementine Miller; and his parents, of Concordia, KS. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeannie Hysom.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Northland Christian Church, 3102 NW Topeka Blvd. Interment will be at Meriden Cemetery, Meriden, KS. Mr. Rightmeier will lie in state after 3 p.m., Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 300 N.
