OBITUARY: Eldon Keith Bray
Keith Bray, 90, Silver Lake, died Fri., March 15, 2013, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka. He was born Jan. 7, 1923, at Cleveland, KS, the son of Roscoe Eldon and Pauline (Sloan) Bray, and a graduate of Kingman High School, Friends Univ., and earned a Master's Degree from Wichita State. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Keith was a school administrator retiring from Hillsboro, KS and then became a Scout Executive for the Sojadi District, Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church, North Topeka Kiwanis Club (Past KS District Governor in 1990-91), and National Silver Haired Congress (Senator). Keith was married to Thelma L. Dunfield on Aug. 31, 1947, in Wichita. He was preceded in death by a son: Gregory Alan Bray in 1979; and a sister: Rachel Daniels in 2009. Survivors are his wife: Thelma Bray of the home; 5 children: Steven Warren Bray (Karyn) of Haslet, TX, Michael Eldon Bray (Colleen) of Houston, TX, Jeffrey Paul Bray (Janene) of Prescott, AZ; Karen Leann Donais (Steve) of Fairfax Station, VA, and Susan Lynelle Cunningham (Randall) of Silver Lake; a sister: Velma June Vasey of Winfield, KS; 17 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Keith will lie in state after 12:00 Noon, Wed., March 20, 2013, at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church at which time the family will receive friends, followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM. A Fort Riley U.S. Army Detail will conduct military honors at Silver Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Lake United Methodist Church, P.O.
