OBITUARY: Mrs. Eldha Carolina Wright
Mrs. Eldha Carolina Wright, 90, passed on to her next life at the Johnson County Nursing Center, Olathe, KS, Sat., Jan. 21, 2006. She was born on a farm near Hermann, MO on March 22, 1915, to Louis Carl and Anna Christina Beurman. Her family moved to Nebraska then to Kansas, where she spent her life in and around Topeka, until the past two years.
She was preceded by her parents and three brothers: Oliver, Paul, and Emil Beurman.
Eldha enjoyed her affiliation with the Eastern Star organizations, and gave great effort to the following: Ramona Chapter # 431, O.E.S., Perry, KS (Worthy Matron '72 and '74), Kansas O.E.S. Grand Chapter District Aid ('74), Trinity White Shrine # 7 (Worthy High Priestess '76), Ancient Toltec Council # 1 (Lady Superior '83), Topeka Assembly #24, Social Order of Beauceant (President '85), and Helena Chapter # 210, O.E.S.
She taught her children the love of God, and exemplified that love throughtout a lifetime of diligent work and generosity. At her passing, she was a member of Johnson County Christian Church, Overland Park, KS.
Eldha was married to James C. Wright, June 23, 1933. He passed in 1986. To them were born two surviving sons: Garry Wright, Topeka, KS, and Dale Wright, Overland Park, KS. Grandma Wright is also survived by seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Those of us who knew her well, shall indeed miss the presence of a wonderful lady, a faithful friend, and a sparkling sense of humor.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wed., Jan. 25, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, Topeka. Interment will be private. Eldha will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Tues. at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
