Elaine Cecelia (Herr) Allen, 96, of Meriden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
She was born August 27, 1927, in Crocker, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Diana (Regnier) Herr.
Elaine loved to square dance and polka dance. She was member of several different quilting clubs early in her life. She enjoyed making quilts for several family members throughout the years.
She was proud to be a part of the Eagles Auxiliary 2469 in Grand Rapids, MN.
She was a member of Meriden United Methodist Church.
Elaine married Laurence E. Allen on February 9, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MN. They shared over 40 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1986.
Survivors include her brother, Joseph Herr age 100; nephews, Gregg (Roxann) Williams, Billy (Vicki) Williams, Carl (Linda) Williams, Ricky Elder, Marion Harris, and Kenny Harris; nieces, Jeannie (Frank Ole) Krahn, Carroll (Ronnie) Schooler, Ronda (Jon) Geisen and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Diana; husband Laurence "Bud", and her seven siblings.
A Funeral Ceremony will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the Parker-Price & Davidson Cremations, Funerals & Reception, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Meriden Cemetery in Meriden.
Memorial contributions may be made to a donor of their choosing.
