Edward "Jim" Price, Jr., 72, of Topeka passed away on January 5, 2023. He was born on August 23, 1950 in Topeka, the son of Edward J. Price, Sr., and Iris E. Basil Price. He attended Grant Elementary School, Curtis Junior High and Topeka High School, graduating in 1968. He served in the United States Army and later the Kansas National Guard. He worked for Adams Business Forms as a pressman. Later, he worked at the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Facility as an automotive driver there until retiring in 2016. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed going to favorite spots at Perry and Melvern. He also enjoyed cars, the drag races, shooting pool in pool leagues on Monday and Wednesday's at Boulevard Billiards. He was a local sports fan following the Royals, Chiefs, K-State Football and KU basketball.
He was married to Lorraine (Beals) Scheibe they divorced. Later, Christina Boyd, they divorced. Then is 1986 he married to Karlin E. Banning in Topeka.
Survivors include his wife, Karlin E. Price of the home; children, Lawrence Lee Scheibe (Kappi) of Rhome, Texas, Jennifer Leigh Serviss and Amanda Sue Lancaster of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Edward J. "Trey" Price, III (Sadye Calvin), Julia Chenoweth James (Shawn) of Abilene, Texas and Jaclyn S. Ortega; grandchildren, Nathan, Aaron, Abigail, Joshua, RiAnna, Ashley, Brandon, Benjamin, Christopher, Aiden, Alia, Lilly, Ricky, Sean, Mikael, Laine, Colby, Jessie and Kyler; four great granddaughters and one great grandson; and his brothers, Eldon (Mary) Price, Topeka and Brian Price, Topeka; and several nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by his two dogs, Sophie and Bennie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Michael Price; sister, Sherry Ann (Price) Neely and a grandson, Cooper James Lancaster.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Parker-Price Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday evening, January 12, 2023 at the funeral home.
