Edward Deutsch, 69 Topeka died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 at a local hospital.
He was born Oct. 13, 1935 in Hoisington, KS the son of Frederick and Emelia Bitter Deutsch.
Edward graduated from Hoisington High School. He worked for Dillons for 28 years. Edward retired from U.S. Army reserves after 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #400 and St. John's Lutheran Church.
He married Florence E. Pivonka, June 27, 1965 in Hoisington, KS, she survives.
Other survivors include, a son, Jason Deutsch, Topeka; daughter Gina Annis, Keller, TX; two grandchildren, Tanner Annis and Kara Annis, Keller, TX; four sisters, Helena Mai, Hoisington, KS; Irene Bitter, Hoisington, KS; Wilma Haesemeyer, Hutchinson, KS; Theresa Dumler, Milberger, KS; and three brothers, Junior Deutsch, Hoisington, KS; Robert Deutsch, Hoisington, KS; Dean Deutsch, Hutchinson, KS.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother Edwin Deutsch, brother, Armin Deutsch, brother, Raymond Deutsch, brother, Leland Deutsch and brother, Paul Deutsch
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Jan. 31, 2005 a t St. John's Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by a U.S. Army Ft. Riley Funeral Detail. Mr. Deutsch will lie in state after 12:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
