Edna S. Spencer, 89, Topeka, died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at Midland Hospice House. She was born Oct. 31, 1915 in McFarland, KS the daughter of Herman and Hilda Gehrt Czirr.
She worked in the cafeteria at Stormont-Vail Hospital for several years. She retired in 1978. Edna was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis, a daughter, Nancy Lewis, grandson, Ray Lewis and five brothers and sisters.
She married Ray C. Spencer, July 30, 1976 in Topeka, he survives.
Other survivors include two step-daughters: Shirley West,Valley Center and Deveina Dee Falk, Topeka; 3 step-sons Larry McAmis, Everett, WA, Ray Spencer, Jr., Topeka, and Mike Spencer, Topeka; a brother, Don Czirr, Kansas City, KS; a twin sister, Ethel Carter, Kansas City, KS; grandson, Steve Lewis, Independence, MO; 31 grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wed., March 30, 2005 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, McFarland..
Mrs. Spencer will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel 245 NW Independence Ave. where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Midland Hospice House 200 SW Frazier Cir.
