Edna Mae (Bickford) Laird

Edna Mae (Bickford) Laird, 85, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Health Care Resort in Topeka.
Edna was born on December 26, 1932, in Miller, KS, to Benjamin and Stella (Parks) Bickford. She graduated from Burlingame High School. She married Carol Laird on April 12, 1953 in Burlingame, KS. Together they had three children. They were longtime members of Oakland United Presbyterian Church. She retired in 1993 as a paraprofessional for the 501 school district after 17 years. Edna loved to grow tomatoes and strawberries in her garden. Above all, Edna loved her family and her corgi.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years; three children, Dana Laird, Cory (Serena) Laird, and Cherie (Chad) Kerr; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Edna was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Michele Bevier; two brothers; and one sister.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
