Edna Doris Cave
Edna Doris Cave, 100, Topeka, died Monday, October 12, 2015, at Oak Creek Senior Living. She was born September 26, 1915, at Paxico the sixth of seven children born to Grant Stanley and Elpha Leona (Shroyer) Stout.
Edna was a devoted homemaker and had worked as a cook at Capitol Federal. She enjoyed flowers with Iris being her favorite and sewing. She was caretaker and did things for many people. Many of the recipients of her kind deeds refer to her as Aunt Eddie or Grandma.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral, where she and sister-in-law, Lillian Cave, served on the Altar Guild for many years.
She was married to Theron A. Cave on November 27, 1941, at the Wells Creek Church, Belvue. He preceded her in death in November, 1979. Also preceding her in death were her parents and six siblings: Bessie St. Clair, Florence Murback, Mary Anna Morrison, Roy Stout, Ruby Breymeyer and Juanita G. Stout.
Surviving are three nieces and a nephew: Maxine Lunden, Jolin Burris, Melvin Stout, and Susie Harris; many great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephew; and many very close friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 16, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue. Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens, 820 SW Auburn Road, Topeka.
Edna will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
