Edith Rose Martin

Edith R. Martin, age 93, of Topeka, KS passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Autumn Home Nursing Home in Topeka.  Edith was born December 2, 1928 in Birkenhead, England, the daughter of Thomas and Rose (Poole) Gordon.  She immigrated to the United States, traveling by boat at the age of 16, to join her in-laws.  She married Darrell Martin in 1945.  He preceded her in death in 1986.  Edith enjoyed bowling, gardening and square dancing for many years.  She was a member of the British Wives Club.

Edith is survived by two sons, Kevin (Heidi) Martin of Topeka; Kerry Martin of Topeka; a daughter, Carol King of Topeka; a sister, Maureen Shiroma of Dixon, California; and two grandsons, Brad King and Michael Martin.

No services are planned.  Her remains will be laid to rest at the West Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
