OBITUARY: Edith Amelia Beckley
Edith Amelia Beckley, 100, Topeka, died peacefully surrounded by loving family on Dec. 3, 2012 at The Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Ozark County, MO, the third oldest of 10 children born to George Colburn and Tracy Maude (Sample) Lucas. She was employed by Russell Stover Candies, and spent many years as a homemaker raising her children and grandchildren. She later enjoyed volunteering and serving for Meals On Wheels. Edith's life was very dedicated to the Lord and she was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husbands, Samuel Henry Imhoff in 1935 and Arthur William Beckley in 1964, and also by her two children: Violet "Louise" Meese in 2001 and Samuel "Dale" Imhoff in 1983. Surviving are 5 grandchildren: Patricia Finnerty of Olathe, Paul Meese (Sonja) of McLouth, LeAnna Hickman (Kin) of Oskaloosa, Kathryn Washburn (James) of Topeka, and Nida Imhoff (son Dalton) of Topeka; sister: Bertha Spain of Manteca, CA; half-sister: Glenda Camp of Bolivar, MO; great-grandchildren: Mary, Julie, Sarah, Amanda, Nikki, Victoria, and Dalton; and several great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Fri., Dec. 7, 2012, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thurs., Dec. 6, 2012, at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
