Earl Henry
Earl William Henry, 82, Topeka, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at a Topeka nursing home.
He was born May 10, 1920, in Topeka, to George W. and Sarah Belle Weaver, and attended Topeka schools. He owned and operated gasoline service stations for Standard and Phillips 66 oil companies.
He was a veteran of World War II, having been assigned to the Eighth Army Air Corps.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Golden Rule Lodge No. 90, AF&AM, Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion, Rollin Sams Camping Club and Marine Dealers Association.
He married Buena "Bonnie" Purinton on Sept. 26, 1952, in Topeka. They owned and operated Henry's Marine for many years. She died March 19, 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry K. VonRiesen, Parker, Colo.; two sisters, Eileen M. Lewis, Garfield, Ark., and Loris Conella, Topeka; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Double services for Mr. and Mrs. Henry will be at 10 a.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery.
