OBITUARY: Mrs. E. Reeda Houser
Mrs. E. Reeda Houser, 92, Carbondale, went to be with the Lord, Mon., May 15, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. She was born Dec. 2, 1913, at Hoosier the daughter of Edward C. and Ada A. (Martin) Connes.
She lived in Dodge City before moving to a farm near Coffeyville where she raised her family. She lived in Springfield, MO, before moving to Topeka in 1979. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Edna and attended First Assembly of God Church of Topeka.
Reeda was married to Henry A. Houser on Oct. 17, 1930 at Jetmore. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1998. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Surviving are a daughter: Madeline Chiddix and husband, Jim, of Carbondale; a sister: Eula R. Wilson of Jetmore; 2 grandchildren: Charles W. Chiddix and wife, Kayla, of Harveyville, and Kimberly Thomas and husband, Garry, of Topeka; and 6 great-grandchildren: Austin, Craig, Jarred, and Grace Thomas and William and Caroline Chiddix.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Thur., May 18, 2006, at Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont. Reeda will lie in state from 3:00 p.m., Wed., to 1:00 p.m., Thurs., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence where the family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wed.
