Duane Smith, 76, of Grantville, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024.
He was born June 13, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Wayne and Katheryn (Mendenhall) Smith.
He graduated from Perry High School.
Duane proudly served in the United States Navy.
He enjoyed working and raising his cattle and working outside. If he wasn't working cattle you could find him out fishing or in his vegetable garden.
On February 6, 1976 in Jefferson City, MO, Duane married his sweetheart Julie Gragert. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2012.
Survivors include his sons, Matt (Tammy) Smith and Aaron Smith; grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis, Kaitlyn Smith, and Tabitha Smith; great-grandchild, Averie Farrow; brother, Tommy Smith, and sister, Cindy Engroff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters, Tess Spencer and Rosalie Ross.
Cremation is planned. Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608.
