Duane Lee Malloy

Duane Lee Malloy, 83, of Topeka, passed away on April 14, 2023 at Aldersgate Village.

He was born on September 3, 1939 to Lester and Iona Malloy at Onaga, Kansas.

Duane graduated from Onaga High School in 1958. He was a loyal Goodyear Tire and Rubber employee for 42 years, working lastly as an Equipment Operator.

On December 31, 1966, he married Cara Lee Malloy (Goins). Together they had 6 children.

Duane was known for his extremely talkative nature, earning him the nick name of "Windy". He loved to watch all sports but his favorites were, Chiefs, Royals, KU, and KSU. Even better than watching, he was a very active grandfather. He was their biggest fan in all they would do and loved to attend and cheer on each one of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his younger years he was the "Dad of The Year". He would help his children practice baseball, basketball, and anything they participated in. Duane was a family man like no other. He enjoyed reading the newspapers and making time for people in need.

Duane is survived by his children, Julia (Steve) Gratton, Russell Malloy, John (Kathleen) Malloy, and Joe Malloy; grandchildren, Jennifer (Greg) Coughlin, Brian Tyrell, Jessica (Josh) Holloway, Travis Steffey, Josh (Kirstyn) Malloy, Madison Malloy, Nick Malloy, Ben Malloy, Jack Malloy, and Talena Malloy; great grandchildren, Illayah Tyrell, Callum Coughlin, Kyler Holloway, Elizabeth Holloway, and Jaxon Holloway.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cara Lee Malloy; daughters, Regina Tyrell and Marcia Malloy; grandchild, Jacob Malloy; siblings, Don Malloy and Donna Teske Malloy; and both of his parents

Private Graveside Service where Duane will be laid to rest next to his wife, Cara, will take place in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, in Perry, Kansas.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Interim Hospice Care in Duane's name and sent in care of Parker Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.
